The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) seeks an Academic Editor for its 6X-per-year research-to-practice journal, TEACHING Exceptional Children (TEC). The Academic Editor will be responsible for generating, reviewing, selecting, and editing article submissions, and working closely with Sage Publishing (the CEC journal publisher). The Academic Editor will also work closely with the TEC Managing Editor to identify journal issue themes and coordinate article content with CEC-generated content that the Managing Editor will handle.

The Academic Editor will work remotely and the projected workload is about 40-60 hours per month. The stipend for this position is $30,000 per year. The Academic Editor is also expected to attend the CEC Convention each year at their own expense.

As a research-to-practice journal, TEC is designed for teachers of children with disabilities and children who are gifted. Articles provide information about practical methods and materials for classroom use.
