INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER,WBUR Program & Production

The Investigative Reporter at WBUR will report and produce a series of original, comprehensive stories that are based on in-depth information gathered from interviews, public records and data analysis. The reporter will have at least seven years experience in investigative reporting with exceptional writing skills. The Investigative Reporter will build relationships with multiple news sources within varied subject areas and institutions. She or he will have strong interviewing skills and a full comprehension of state and federal public records laws. The Investigative Reporter will request records as necessary and interpret them to formulate findings and then communicate them to a variety of audiences in the greater Boston and New England area via audio production, writing and other multi-media digital platforms. The Investigative Reporter works with the investigative unit editor to translate complex issues -- producing segments for radio, digital platforms and live forums; the unit will often collaborate with other WBUR journalists and outside partners including journalists from external news organizations.

Bachelor's degree required with at least seven years of experience in investigative reporting.
