The Rockefeller University seeks a Scientific Editor, JEM to join Rockefeller University Press. The Scientific Editor will oversee the peer review process for submitted manuscripts and recruit high quality submissions to the Journal of Experimental Medicine (JEM). The Senior Scientific Editor will also be involved in promoting journal policies and, in conjunction with the Executive Editor, training Scientific Editors. The Senior Editor is expected to effectively manage projects and tasks that will make a significant contribution to the overall strategic direction of the journal.
Ph.D. in neuroscience or a relevant biomedical field is required. Postdoctoral experience is strongly preferred. Will require regular travel to attend relevant scientific meetings and to visit research institutions when University travel resumes. Must have exceptional communication skills and superb attention to detail, as well as a strong interest in scientific publishing and publication ethics. For the Senior Editor position, two or more years of editorial experience is required; three or more years is preferred.
