Digital Content Editor will play a critical role in delivering consistent and comprehensive digital content to CUIMC community by leveraging the Health Sciences Library expertise and technology. Key objectives for this position include creation and management of customer-facing content that is accurate, consistent, and compliant with the Health Sciences Library mission and policies. A key component of this role will be to provide scalable digital solutions to complex problems to enable seamless self-service from the library website. This content will be leveraged by all levels of our organization. Digital Content Editor will act as the principal liaison between Access Services, Informationists, Information Resources and Web Manager, as well as potential external collaborators. This position will report to the Associate Dean of the Health Sciences Library.
Research, write, publish and manage high-quality digital content for HSL website. Edit, proofread and propose improvements to written composed content, contributed by HSL staff.
Ensure all digital content on HSL website is up-to-date, composed and configured with appropriate taxonomy to ensure search and browsing optimization.
Facilitate review of content to confirm accuracy of the information and/or determine the need for updates or revisions.
Identify and implement enhancements to the content library to increase its effectiveness and visibility, including Social Media functions. Determine and track important KPIs.
Partner with HSL functional teams, and identify potential external content contributors to leverage a deep understanding of information management processes, including flows, standards, and extend effectiveness of the Health Sciences Library digital assets.
Establish and communicate clear guidelines for internal and external authors. Make editorial decisions with reasonable speed and communicate them in a clear and constructive manner.
Establish a procedure for making and reconsidering editorial decisions, and a system for effective and rapid peer review.
Promote aligned consumer experience across all channels of communication (phone, social, email, website).
Collaborate with other communication offices regarding any urgent media issues, product launches and product field notifications, which may have internal and external impact
Provide continuous communication to the leadership team regarding upcoming projects and innovations.
Bachelor's degree or equivalency in education and training
Minimum 4 years professional experience in creating, editing and managing content, preferably in an academic center, customer service contact center or healthcare environment. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be substituted.
Demonstrated digital content editing skills, excellent writing and proofreading skills, with a portfolio of published work.
Experience with the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including intake and governance.
In-depth knowledge of best SEO practices and tools.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills as well as analytical capabilities are required.
Detail-oriented and creative thinker.
Good organizational, project- and time-management skills.
Master???s degree in Journalism, Communications or related field.
Knowledge of publishing and information practice standards in biomedical disciplines
Ability to work independently
Ability to make sound judgment calls
