Join PBS Wisconsin as our News Series Producer. The person in this position is responsible for supervising and line producing award-winning, statewide weekly television and digital news analysis programs and projects that cover critical state issues and politics with in-depth focus on impact of legislation and elections. The News Series Producer will line produce other news and public affairs specials as assigned, including pre-recorded and live productions. This position assists with the management of the operations for the PBS Wisconsin news department and supervises broadcast and digital video content production and staff, provides editorial guidance, and may contribute content.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. Minimum 4 years of leading a broadcast video news project or programs. Experience line producing news programs. 2. Experience managing the work of a team of individuals with varying levels of experience. 3. Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in editorial decision making and ethical journalism. 4. Strong attention to detail with demonstrated excellent broadcast writing, grammar and proofreading skills. Knowledge of AP style. 5. Demonstrated ability to lead and work productively and successfully with people from diverse backgrounds. 6. Strong knowledge of Wisconsin current events, politics, and issues. 7. Proven ability to work in both independent and collaborative settings.
