Grant Proposal preparation: Assemble documentation for research proposals and reports in coordination with the Local Business Center, edits component of proposals, tracks changing proposal and reporting requirements for different agencies. Assist with federal requirements such as open access compliance and data archiving for publications.

Establishes editing schedules.
Checks typeset proofs before author review. Reviews typeset proofs or revised written copy returned by authors and approves or rejects changes. Enters author changes as appropriate and checks typeset pages.
Work with faculty and/or research group on writing research proposals to government agencies and private sources. This includes editing of the drafts of scientific portions of proposals with the objective of improving clarity and presentation and creating new content where possible.
Prepares and edits documents such as letters of recommendations and publicity, related to research group activity, educational activities, and outreach.
Creation and management of online content for faculty web pages. Finalizes all types of documents for presentation, including layout and figures.
Assists the Chair with special projects for the department.
Collaborates with authors to resolve routine and moderate problems using existing procedures and to clarify meaning. Assists with quality control by proofreading edited manuscripts.
Edits books, journals, or other written materials with some guidance from others. Establishes editing schedules.
Performs other related work as needed.
Degree in Chemistry or related field.
Technical Knowledge or Skills
Advanced skills in using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills
Strong analytical the skills with ability to interpret and present complex data
Knowledge of federal grant and report requirements preferred
Attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Publication quality document production experience preferred
