The Office of Admission and Financial Aid at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism invites applications for a position as Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Director will have primary oversight and manage the day-to-day operations of the Admission and Financial Aid Office, focusing on admissions, recruitment and communication. The Director will be responsible for identifying institutional priorities, making strategic decisions and formulating strategies designed to meet annual admissions and enrollment goals.
Co-develop a strategic enrollment management and marketing plan, to include predictive modeling and recommendations, for all degree programs. This plan would seek to maximize the School’s ability to attract and enroll the most qualified students from across the United States and around the world.
Partner with the Associate Dean and other senior leadership in making data-driven decisions to set enrollment and budget targets.
Foster a culture that emphasizes a student-centered approach to admissions and recruitment, ensuring a high level of customer service.
Manage the daily admissions processes and operations through all stages of the enrollment funnel, from inquiry to enrollment.
Evaluate admissions-related policies and procedures, both administrative and technical, to maximize efficiency.
Ensure timely processing, evaluation and decision release of admissions applications with staff and faculty.
Co-develop financial aid strategies that help the School attract and support the most diverse student body possible.
Identify and coordinate with various offices throughout the School and University matters of advertising and marketing materials used for outreach, both print and digital.
A bachelor’s degree is required, as well as a minimum of 5–7 years’ related experience.
