Lake Forest Academy is seeking an Interim Instructor of Journalism to cover a temporary leave and teach from late January through late May 2022. Additionally, this position may coach in the co-curricular afternoon program if interested.   

General overview of responsibilities:

• Teaching assigned sections within the English Department, specifically Journalism I, Journalism II, and Advanced Journalistic Writing and Reporting 
• Writing formal comments on students twice and informal progress reports twice.  
• Meeting with parents, as needed
• Serving the school’s afternoon program through coaching or other responsibilities
• Serving as an co-advisor to a small group of students

Required experience and/or education:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a Journalism-related discipline
• Expertise teaching a broad range of English courses
• A strong knowledge of the mechanics of writing, reading, and speaking

Compensation/Benefits:

Due to the temporary nature, this position is not benefit eligible. Final salary will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the final appointed candidate.
