CONTENT WRITER AND EDITOR , Alumni Association (MITAA)-Strategic Communications and Marketing (SCM) , to plan and develop multi-platform content to support the MITAA's efforts to engage the global community of alumni and friends with the Institute and with one another. Will plan and facilitate editorial operations for the content track of the SCM team through the development and publishing of engaging and strategic editorial pieces; edit and write for online newsletters, MITAA's blog, Slice of MIT, and MIT Technology Review's MIT News magazine; and help develop and execute innovative digital content strategies to ensure that alumni are engaging optimally with content and subsequently taking further actions related to MITAA's programmatic, event, and fundraising activities.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field; at least five years' work experience in communications; editorial and content fields, marketing, web development, digital communications, or project management; excellent writing, content development, oral communication, customer service, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, time-management, and decision-making skills; meticulous attention to detail; flexible approach to the working environment and new ideas; good independent judgment and a high level of discretion. Seek a self-starter who is able to demonstrate initiative, take ownership of a project and then work both independently with minimal supervision and as a team member, and anticipate and act on the needs of supervisors and those with whom they provide project support. Must be able to multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines and budget without compromising quality in a demanding, high-volume, high-energy work environment; and collaborate with and foster a welcoming environment for MIT's many internal and external audiences.
