Collaborates with communications professionals within the various schools and divisions on ideas to highlight faculty research, members of the University community, and University programs, initiatives, and events.
Collaborates with colleagues at UChicago Creative â“ the Universityâ™s in-house creative team to develop innovative video, audio, and visual content for the Universityâ™s digital and social channels.
Works with colleagues on the Universityâ™s media relations team on media outreach around research, faculty expertise and University initiatives.
Works independently to research, lead, and determine presentation of written content to support initiatives.
Researches, verifies, writes and edits publications, which can includes technical/scientific material for manuals or journals.
Uses knowledge of writing with moderate levels of guidance to write in-depth pieces relating to specialized field (e.g. scientific writing).
Performs other related work as needed.
Three years of experience producing content for general audiences in a fast-paced environment.
Two years of experience working with social media and digital production.
Strong writing skills, including experience in writing for a general audience.
Extensive research skills and the ability to work with complex and varied material.
Explain complex ideas and materials to a general audience.
Sound verbal communication skills, including ability to conduct interviews.
Strong creativity, including the desire to experiment and delve into new approaches to content and storytelling. Â
Work independently with a high degree of initiative, organization and attention to detail.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
