Assist with injections, pap smears, biopsies, and LEEP procedures.
Prep lab specimens for send out.
Assess patients for changes in condition, including but not limited to abnormal labs, x-rays, scans.
Set up procedures (i.e. port placement and blood transfusion), referrals, and obtain prior authorization.
Obtain pathology reports, manage faxes, and return emergent and non-emergent patient phone calls.
Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow.
Documents all elements of care.
Serve as a resource to the Medical Assistants.
Communicate all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician, nurse, or advanced practice provider
Assess patient and family needs.
Complete new patient chart prep for physician team ensuring all elements of the patients work up is available to for review upon first appointment with provider
monitor the navigating care tickets and prescription refill line
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.
Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.
Minimum of two years-experience as a practical nurse in a hospital or clinic setting preferred but not required.
Current CPR certification required.
Must be willing to travel between offices when needed.
