The Department of Communication at the University of Minnesota Duluth seeks to add people to its pool of temporary instructors and/or assistant professors to teach select journalism courses. These include: introduction and advanced reporting courses, digital storytelling, and media ethics and law. Positions are on a full-time or part-time basis for the 2022-23 academic year, delivered completely onsite beginning August 22, 2022. Term contracts only; positions contingent on funding.
Qualifications
Required:
Masters degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant field, such as Journalism, Mass Communication, Communication, or English.
One year of relevant teaching experience at the college level (graduate TA experience acceptable).
Effective written communication skills appropriate to the position.
Experience in using technology for teaching.
Preferred:
Terminal degree from an accredited university in a relevant field.
Two or more years of relevant college-level teaching experience or professional experience in journalism or a relevant field.
Experience teaching a variety of upper and lower division courses such as those offered by the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD).
Effective teaching and communication skills appropriate to the position.
Expertise in using technology for teaching.
Evidence of the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
