Description: The Baylor University Journalism, Public Relations & New Media Department seeks a dynamic scholar to fill the position of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) beginning in Fall 2024. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or other terminal degree and have professional experience in broadcast journalism, photography, or videography. Specifically, in this search we are looking for someone with expertise in visual communication, digital audio and video production, and photography.

Qualifications: Candidates for tenure-track positions must have:
A defined research agenda or promise of substantial research and/or juried exhibitions of national or international scope, seek research grants,
Be willing to mentor graduate students and
Teach both conceptual and skills-based courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Courses taught may include the areas of visual communication, digital audio and video production, photography, and the history of photography. Teaching experience in broadcast journalism and professional broadcasting experience, such as sports broadcasting, is preferred. Teachable knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Responsibilities also include management of the programming and use of equipment in the broadcast media lab and instructing students on audio and video production with the equipment.
