Job Description Boston University's Marketing & Communications Editorial department is looking for a talented and experienced Production Manager. You will oversee and manage the scope and day-to-day operational aspects of producing content for BU Today, Bostonia, and The Brink, Boston University's daily news editorial platforms, from concept planning to completion. You will supervise the two Web Content Producers by providing leadership, direction, and oversight including assessment and monitoring of the daily production needs for the BU Today website, Bostonia website, and The Brink website to ensure that all media assets and content are prepared and posted in a timely and accurate manner. You will identify, develop, and implement the use of new project management technologies to increase productivity and preparedness to ensure that the production of new websites is more efficient. You will work alongside a creative team of publication editors, designers, writers, photographers, and content providers across the Marketing & Communications unit to help guide the creative presentation of editorial content and contribute to content strategy initiatives. You will function as the hub of a project, documenting the process, taking the lead in identifying and coordinating resources needed and assigning individual responsibilities, and managing and overseeing the project from inception to completion.

Required Skills
B.A. /B.S. or equivalent, with 5-8 years of web content experience, proven experience, and proficiency working in Content Management Systems (WordPress required).
Intermediate experience using Adobe Photoshop or other Adobe CS/CC applications.
Hands-on Search Engine Optimization experience, and knowledge of current SEO best practices; intermediate skill level for technical and on-page SEO and writing for SEO.
Experience planning, testing, and writing marketing emails; knowledge of marketing email best practices.
Strong project management skills with proven abilities in tracking long and short-range deadlines, and cross-team collaboration and communication.
Requires initiative, and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, excellent time management, and organizational skills, and five to eight years of experience.
Must be able to work some evenings and weekends and be available for technical assistance during non-business hours.
