The Connecticut Mirror (CT Mirror), a nonprofit, nonpartisan, digital newsroom that covers statewide public policy and politics, is seeking a contract photo editor who will provide support to our sole visual journalist and work with word editors on staff to better integrate visuals and video into our stories. This role involves collaboration with editors, reporters and other editorial staff to produce compelling visuals that enhance our coverage. Responsibilities will include attending a weekly meeting and being available during some regular business hours each week.
This editor should have a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in photo editing and visual storytelling. Experience in a newsroom is needed, as is the ability to bring a creative and innovative approach to visual storytelling.
Contract details:
Rate: $75/hr
Hours: Up to 10 hours per week
Contract duration: six months, with possibility to extend.
