The University of Michigan-Flint is seeking a Faculty Catalog Editor with anticipated start date of 9/1/2025.
The University Catalog forms a legal contract between the University and its students. The Faculty Catalog Editor represents the faculty in the Catalog process and serves as the lead curriculum expert. This role reports directly to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and involves significant collaboration with the Registrar's Office and other academic departments to ensure the accuracy, clarity, and organization of the University Catalog.

This is a 12 month term limited appointment with an option to extend. The peak times run from November through April.
Compensation is the equivalent to a 3 credit course release which will be paid out as a stipend of $10,000
Catalog Management:
Oversee the organization, structure, and user experience of the online catalog, ensuring that it is easily navigable and accessible to all users.
Support the Office of the Registrar with the review, selection, and implementation of potential software packages and subsequent upgrades relevant to catalog management.
Ensure that the catalog adheres to compliance regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices in higher education.
Support the enforcement of Catalog procedures such as annual submission deadlines and workflows.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work with faculty and staff to create course and program proposals that are accurate, clear, concise, and follow the standard formatting guidelines.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to edit content for both style and substance.
Additional Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage the accuracy and consistency of the Catalog in relation to approved changes to reduce redundancies.
Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting the overall goals of the Registrar's Office and the University. The responsibilities outlined may evolve as the needs of the University and the Registrar's Office change.
Must be a current Clinical or Tenure Track faculty member at the University of Michigan-Flint
Experience in written and interpersonal communication
Editorial and proofreading experience
Experience in managing and prioritizing multiple deadlines
Knowledge of and experience in managing workflow
Experience working independently with minimal supervision as well as in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of and experience with databases, spreadsheets, and other office software.
