Primary Responsibilities: 1. Manage the day-to-day tasks of the journal.
Editing and layout of the print version of New Ohio Review, which includes entering contents of the issue into InDesign, paginating, and proofreading the material for each issue, as well as preparing and sending out proofs and incorporating author responses and changes into the final copy. Layout design includes designing the cover and working with relevant artists. Along with the layout of the issue, the managing editor also orchestrates distribution of the journal nationwide, as well as to subscribers.

3. Literary Work
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the managing editor will also be responsible for reading some submissions—mostly in nonfiction and fiction. This literary work may involve writing extensive comments on the pieces, communicating with the writers, and forwarding promising work to the editor.
