The Program on Global Health and Human Rights, Institute on Inequalities in Global Health (IIGH) in the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Research Editor/Writer I to join the team at the University of Southern California. We work with partners at USC and around the world to address health-related disparities and inequalities, taking a multidisciplinary approach to advance the evidence base about what works, train the next generation of leaders and inform public policy.
This position will work independently and as a member of the Instituteâs team using the frameworks of public health and human rights to analyze global health challenges. Employment involves (1) developing and writing research work, such as literature reviews, web-based research and secondary data analysis; (2) preparing written materials for publication, including peer-reviewed articles, technical reports and other documents as needed; (3) assisting with data collection preparation and supporting the development, testing and application of research tools; and (4) providing overall project support to the research faculty and leadership at IIGH. Excellent English writing and speaking skills are required. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, organizational, writing and problem-solving skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple takss. Prior experience in research and in fields relevant to global health and human rights is preferred. A graduate-level degree in public health, law, and/or related fields is strongly preferred.
