| The Society for Science is looking for a talented editor to join the Science News for Students team. Our ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable with all fields of science and brings strong writing and editing skills. A background in education is a plus but not required. Must be creative, dedicated to accuracy, hard-working and a flexible, independent team player. Science News for Students is an award-winning, free online daily publication dedicated to pre-teens and teens, parents and teachers. It connects the latest in scientific research to learning in and out of the classroom. Science News for Students covers topics in science, health and technology that are of interest or relevance to our young audience. This can include anything from the COVID-19 pandemic to quantum mechanics to the science of zombies. This is a new position, and we are looking for someone who can channel their inner 12-year-old and bring passion for communicating the wonders of science to the Science News for Students audience. Position Type This is a full-time position, either remote or on-site at our office located near the Dupont Circle and Farragut North Metro stations in Washington, D.C. (Due to current pandemic restrictions, all work will be remote until at least September 7, 2021.)
