The Community Outreach Programs Administrator will design and implement effective strategies to attract students of diverse and underrepresented backgrounds to the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. This individual will manage the graduate student scholarship program; facilitate the application and selection process. Develop and oversee a new mentor program. Coordinate events and other fundraising activities as well as manage grants for journalistic work.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in higher education, marketing and communications, public policy, or related fields.

Required Experience:
5+ years experience as a writer, journalist, or as an entrepreneur.

Preferred Experience:
Experience managing scholarship, fellowship, and/or grant programs. Experience managing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programming. Experience with alumni engagement. Experience conducting evaluation, assessment, or social science research skills. Experience as a journalist.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; strong analytical skills. A good writer, with imagination and an entrepreneurial approach to problem solving. Ability to plan and implement events and develop marketing strategies.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of best practices for DEI programming and alumni engagement. Grant writing and reporting skills. Results oriented
