1. Edits articles submitted from recognized experts in academia, journalism, government, business, and the non-profit sector. 2. Writes or oversees the editing of scholarly presentations. 3 Participates in implementing technology driven enhancements that might be made periodically. 4. Participates in the development of technical and administrative tools for site maintenance and content management. Coordinates site development and activities with IT staff in other departments. 5. Manages contractual and financial interactions with freelance editors and prepares and tracks documentation for payments. 6. Develops, evaluates, and updates editing and technical standards at all stages of production. 7. Selects and archives news items, book reviews, research reports, and other material from a variety of sources. Negotiates re-print arrangements with publications and organizations. 8. Manages and maintains electronic mailing list software application, produces content for weekly e-newsletter, and oversees readers' comments section. 9. Trains and supervises student interns in their editing and selecting stories. 10. May perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education: Previous editorial experience and an advanced degree in art history or similar field. Interest in British art and experience working in a museum and/or a team-based environment.
